Shabana sits at the summit of the NSL log with 57 points from 25 games.

Murang'a Seal is aiming to close the gap between them and log leaders Shabana by winning their upcoming National Super League (NSL) match against Migori Youth on Wednesday, May 24.

The possible victory for Seal will help them reduce the three-point gap between themselves and Shabana, who will not be playing a midweek week match.

Seal remained unbeaten in their last 11 league matches, with their last result being a 5-0 win over Vihiga United at St Sebastian Park on Sunday, May 21.

Migori Youth on the other hand extended their unbeaten run in the league to five matches with a 3-0 win over Naivas FC on Saturday, May 20 with goals from Wycliffe Omondi, Brian Junior, and Kevin Hagai.

The Western Kenya-based side is currently third on the standings with 47 points from 24 matches that they have played so far this season.

Murang'a Seal is on 51 points, albeit having played a game more and their coach Vincent Nyaberi is optimistic of a good run in the remaining seven fixtures.

"All our remaining matches are like finals. We want to win all of them and qualify for the Kenya Premier League. We want to lift the NSL trophy. The boys are psyched up," he said.

Migori Youth have claimed ten points from their last five away matches this season, with their last result on the road being a 1-0 win over Mwatate United on Monday, May 15.

In the head-to-head stats, Murang'a Seal and Migori Youth have met in six league matches, where Seal have claimed three wins while the other three matches have been drawn.

In the teams' two league meetings this season, they settled for a goalless draw in a match played on Wednesday, January 25 at Migori Stadium.

Meanwhile, Darajani Gogo will be away to Mully Children's Family FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

David Mahira's MCF will be desperate for a win after losing 1-0 at home to Mara Sugar in their last game.

The Yatta-based side has claimed 32 points from 24 matches they have played this season, and their latest win at home came a fortnight ago when they brushed aside Mombasa Elite 2-1.

MCF's desperation to break into the top eight makes them a real threat to Gogo's ambitions of earning a playoff spot.

The hosts will be without striker Joshua Ratemo who is suspended, having accumulated four yellow cards, and is unavailable for selection.

But there is good news following the return of midfielder Robert Mutua who missed the last game due to an injury.

Darajani Gogo goes into the fixture in sixth with 38 points, knowing a win will take them above Gusii FC in fifth.

Coach Pius Aringa's players would be keen to pick themselves up and show some quality, needing to be more convincing in their last five games.

Gogo's leading marksman Ramadhan Moyo is expected to play a part in Wednesday's match as MCF look for solutions upfront but the Kibera-based outfit will be without midfielder Ramadhan Nasur due to fitness issues.

It will be the second meeting between MCF and Darajani Gogo in the league, with the first game ending in a goalless draw at Camp Toyoyo on Wednesday, January 25.
