The centre-back has been an ever-present for the Napoli side that won the Serie A title for the first time since 1990 this season and has been attracting interest from top clubs in Europe.

Manchester United are believed to be keen admirers of the Korean defender and are thought to be preparing a bid of around €60 million to match the centre-backs release clause when it becomes active at the start of July.

They were set to face competition from French giants PSG, who were also keen on securing defensive cover for next season after being left short staffed this season following injuries to key defenders.

However, the situation appears to have turned in the Red Devils’ favour, with PSG now believed to be seeking defensive solutions elsewhere

Les Parisiens have reportedly pulled out of the deal due to the financial implications of signing Kim MinJae as they would have to match the lucrative contract reportedly offered to him by Manchester United.

In addition to a potential €60m transfer fee, PSG consider the deal too expensive for their new project and will instead focus their attention on signing french defender Lucas Hernandez from Bayern Munich.

This leaves the door wide open for Kim to join Manchester United, who are believed to be his preferred destination.
