Batoto ba Mungu will be out to make amends following their 2-0 loss to Bidco last weekend

Kariobangi Sharks will target a three-point haul in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) when they host Sofapaka at Kasarani Annex Stadium on Friday.

Sharks are winless in their last five league matches, having recorded a goalless draw against AFC Leopards in their last outing.

As the home side, Kariobangi Sharks have won just two games on their patch in the 2022-2023 campaign, with three losses and three draws highlighting their inconsistencies.

Sharks head coach William Muluya was impressed by his side's display in their last game, and he hopes they will return to winning form in the league when they host Sofapaka.

"I will carry on the clean sheet, I will carry on the goalless draw, and I will carry on the one point, and we will build on from there," he said.

As for Sofapaka, they head into the tie on the back of a 2-0 loss to Bidco United, as the two sides locked horns last Sunday.

Batoto ba Mungu's form card looks better than their opponents as they recorded two wins, one draw, and two losses in their last five league outings.

David Ouma, the Sofapaka head coach, was not happy with their loss against Bidco United, and he hinted that he is working to bring back a winning mentality in the team.

"We have not had enough energy for the last two matches to give our opponents competition. Regarding team organization, we should always try to influence the wide areas to get something out of it. We can do better," he said.

Sofapaka has no known injuries or suspension concerns, and they will seek inspiration from Ambrose Sifuna for goals.

For Sharks, Tyson Otieno has been their leading man in attack, having scored five goals so far in the competition. The midfielder has the ability to inspire the club to a win over Batoto ba Mungu.

In the head-to-head stats, Kariobangi Sharks and Sofapaka have met in 11 league matches since 2017. Sharks have claimed three wins compared to one for the Batoto ba Mungu, while seven matches have been drawn.

In the last meeting between the two sides, Sharks claimed an emphatic 3-0 win at Kasarani Annex Stadium.
