Kapaito has now scored five for the season, to add up to his maiden two goals against Bidco United in December, to end a spell of an opening three months without finding the back of the net in a yellow shirt.

Tusker forward Erick Kapaito believes he now feels completely at home after his hat-trick inspired the Alemen to a 5-0 win over KCB at the Police Sacco Stadium on Sunday.

Kapaito scored three goals, one in the first half and another two in the second to help Tusker move up to fifth place and nine behind leaders Gor Mahia.

He has now scored five for the season, to add up to his maiden two goals against Bidco United in December, to end a spell of an opening three months without finding the back of the net in a yellow shirt.

Speaking to Pulse Sports after the game, Kapaito revealed his pride at how well his teammates executed the plan that helped him get the three goals he scored on the afternoon.

“It has been good. We thank God a lot as well for the grace he gave us in this game,” Kapaito said.

“We have been working well as a team. It is something we have been working on in training and we are now glad that it has brought itself into the game.”

Kapaito, who had earlier insisted he would remain patient and the goals would come, has revealed he is now relating well with his teammates and his fitness is at optimum level.

“I think my fitness is at its optimum. I have gelled well with the team as well and we are in the right track.”

Kapaito scored what was arguably a goal-of-the-season contender with an acrobatic shot into the back of the net for his second goal and re-lived the moment after.

“As a striker, you have to maximize on half a chance. I believe it was good and we took it nicely.”

The former Kariobangi Sharks striker has vowed to take it ‘a game at a time’ and see if he will get more goals.

“Game after game. I can’t really set a target now but  I think it will be good if we get goals on a regular basis which will be good.”
