Jurgen Klopp discusses his mixed emotions about leaving Liverpool and reflects on the challenges and joys of his managerial tenure.

Jurgen Klopp has voiced a mix of nostalgia and relief as he prepares to conclude his storied tenure as Liverpool manager.

The 56-year-old German is set to leave his role at Anfield at the season's end, nearly nine years after taking the helm in October 2015.

Under Klopp's guidance, Liverpool celebrated recent triumphs including a thrilling Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea and a decisive 4-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.

The latter victory secured a top-three finish for Liverpool in the Premier League this season. Despite these successes Klopp is ready to hand over the reins to Feyenoord's Arne Slot, confident in his decision to step down.

Klopp discussed the demanding nature of his role and the aspects he will not miss.

"This [media] is very difficult most of the time. It is very draining when you always have to talk and explain things and most of it you can't explain," he explained as per Liverpool Echo.

Reflecting on his role, Klopp emphasized the joy he found in the day-to-day management and growth of the team.

"Actually being the manager of Liverpool; the pure football side, coaching the team, doing the stuff we do, growing together as a unit, I love that part. I'm not the right man to do that anymore. But what is really hard is you, the outside world," said Klopp.

Despite the challenges, Klopp's love for football and his players shone through as he cherished the responsibility and the emotional connections formed over the years, which played a significant part in his decision-making process.

"All the responsibility and love that grew over the years is a big part of the decision I made, so I'm absolutely fine and at peace with the decision," he affirmed.

Reflecting on his personal adjustment post-management, Klopp mentioned, "Just going home and sitting down for a moment and seeing how that feels," indicating his need for a break from the relentless public attention.

With Feyenoord’s Arne Slot set to take over at Liverpool, Klopp offered some advice for his successor.

"I think understand a little bit of football, that's my skill. I love people, especially football players. So from that point of view, it wasn't difficult. I enjoyed it a lot," he concluded.
