"She hasn't got a degree in anything, she's s****. She's got a degree in boring people to death,” Barton said of Alex Scott’s punditry skills.

Joey Barton has once again continued to speak out against female pundits in football, criticising BBC presenter Alex Scott by accusing her of contributing to the downfall of Football Focus.

Barton referred to Scott as the 'Ted Bundy of presenting' last week, drawing a controversial comparison to the notorious serial killer.

In a recent podcast clip from Common Sense with Joey Barton, he reiterated his stance, blaming Scott, a former Arsenal Women defender,  for the decline of Football Focus.

Alongside an explicit caption about Scott, Barton stated in the clip, "She's about to put Football Focus, which is a flagship thing, in the ground. We've got her to thank for that."

Barton dismissed the relevance of Scott's degree in sports journalism, asserting, "She hasn't got a degree in anything, she's s****. She's got a degree in boring people to death, that's why they're turning off."

There have been concerns about the potential cancellation of Football Focus due to declining viewership, with a significant drop coinciding with Scott taking over as the main presenter in 2021.

Barton, who previously predicted the demise of the show, criticized it as “drivel and nonsense” under Scott's leadership.

Scott has faced sexist remarks from Barton in the past, but she has responded, defending the presence of women in football. After a Women's Super League match in December, she emphasized, "football is a better place with us all in it."

Barton, however, persists in his criticism, asserting that Scott "doesn't have a clue" about the men's game and describing her as a 'really bad player.' Scott, a former England player with 140 caps and multiple league titles with Arsenal, has become a target of Barton's ongoing tirade against women in football.

Barton's disparaging remarks extend beyond Scott, as he previously criticized England goalkeeper Mary Earps, questioning her abilities just minutes after she received the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

He has also targeted TV pundit Eni Aluko and female commentator Lucy Ward, making inappropriate comparisons to serial killers Fred and Rose West. Aluko has taken legal action against Barton, urging social media companies to address hateful attacks on their platforms.
