Jackline Juma: Rising Starlets Had Some Challenges in Ethiopia
Jackline Juma explained that playing at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa was tough since the surface was flooded, making it difficult for the youngsters to execute their plan.
The tactician pointed out that the Ulinzi Sports Complex surface was much better, and they knew what they needed to do to secure a slot in the third round.
“First of all, in Addis, we had some challenges; it was flooded, so it totally changed our game plan, but at home, we decided to keep possession of the ball with counterpress because Ethiopia are very good with the ball,” Jackline Juma said after the match.

Jackline Juma on Tactical Decisions During the Match
Jackline Juma added that she knew what needed to be done. She decided to go with the two lines of four at the back, a flat midfield, and a pair of forwards up front, providing balance between defence and attack.
At some point, she changed the formation and brought in Lorna Faith Wasike and Halima Imbachi, as she explained Patience Asiko’s role in the match.
“Actually, we started with a 1-4-4-2 system formation because we wanted many goals, and later we brought in Mwana Halima and Lorna,” Jackline Juma added.
