Gor Mahia coach Sinica Mihic sounds warning to star midfielder after reported fall out.

Gor Mahia head coach Sinica Mihic has vowed to take total control of his squad amid fallout with key midfielder.

For the last two months, there has been unrest within the club with the Croat first falling out with his technical bench.

His latest disagreement with last season's Most Valuable Player award winner Austin Odhiambo only serves to derail Gor Mahia's FKF Premier League title defense.

As reported by Mozzart Sports, Mihic, who took charge of K'Ogallo as the head coach on February 3, 2025,  succeeding interim coach Zedekiah "Zico" Otieno, said Odhiambo must be disciplined and follow instructions to the latter.

Mihic referred to Odhiambo as “a good player who has to be disciplined and follow my instructions.”

Mihic however, reiterated that no player is bigger than the club and teamwork is needed for any team to succeed.

“He [Odhiambo] should even have been substituted in the game against Sofapaka. He had the ball, slowed the game down knowingly, and even when Omalla and Bryson were in good position to score, he couldn’t give them the ball.

“I’m the coach, and he feels he is at a level where he can’t follow my instructions, then he wouldn’t be part of my team.”

Third-placed Gor Mahia are four points behind leaders Tusker, but have a game in hand against FC Talanta on Thursday April 24 at Dandora Stadium.

Gor Mahia have 47 points from 26 matches and a win against Talanta will see the record champions move to second position on 50 points, a point behind leaders Tusker.
