The Brewers have been dealt a huge boost as two of their key defenders are set to return to full fitness.

Tusker have been dealt a huge boost as two of their key defenders are set to return to action after some time out due to injury issues.

First-choice defensive pairing of Tom Teka and Charles Momanyi are set to return to action after both suffered injuries, which has had a knock-on effect on the consistency of the results they have been producing.

Assistant coach George Maina was able to give an update on the club’s social media handles during one of the side’s training sessions.

The veteran tactician has admitted that he is set to have selection headaches following their return.

“Of course, we have Momanyi back, we have Teka coming back again very strong,” Maina said.

“Also again, it gives us a tough (choice) to pick from those guys because they have come up well.”

His sentiments make sense, considering Robert Matano will now have six options at center back to pick from, with  Eugene Asike, Mike Kibwage and versatile defenders Boniface Onyango and Jimmy Mbugua to also pick form.

Tusker have not had the best of starts to the season. After 11 league games, they are 11th in the league on 14 points, a whole 11 behind league leaders Posta Rangers.

Their league game against Bidco United scheduled to take place last week was postponed, meaning they have a game in hand and could still climb up the table.

They will be facing AFC Leopards in a high stakes clash in their next league game this weekend.
