‘How you can sell Scott is beyond me’ - Ole Gunnar Solskjær slams Man United for selling key player
Having enjoyed a successful period with Manchester United, the Red Devils academy product left Old Trafford last summer.
Napoli secured the services of the midfielder for £21 million, a move that has proven to be an important signing.
Scott McTominay is having his most prolific goalscoring season, having netted 12 goals across all competitions this year.
Solskjaer speaks McTominay's sale
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, McTominay's former Manchester United manager, has strongly criticised the decision to sell the midfielder.
Speaking to the BBC, Solskjaer said, "Scott and Fred together, they were lads you would put your hat on every day to give 100%. How you can sell Scott is beyond me.
“It’s still good to see Bruno Fernandes and Harry (Maguire) doing well. And Scotty [Scott McTominay] is doing well at Napoli.
“I’m upset that we let him go because he was important last season when he kept popping up with goals. His heart and his knowledge of the culture were important.”
McTominay's excellent performances have been vital for Napoli's pursuit of the league title this season, as Antonio Conte's team currently holds a three-point lead in the Serie A table.
