Ryan Reynolds, a hollywood actor who is remembered for his role as Deadpool, has revealed plans for Wrexham's promotion to the Premier League.

Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has called his journey with the Welsh club "one of the greatest experiences of my life" after watching them seal promotion to the Championship — and he's already looking ahead to their Premier League push.

Reynolds, alongside fellow Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney, flew in to witness the club's emphatic 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

The result secured second place in League One and capped off a meteoric rise from non-league football to the brink of England’s top tier in just three seasons.

“This club is the sum of its supporters. Before we showed up, they’d saved it multiple times,” Reynolds reflected in an emotional post on social media.

“It’s a temple as much as a football pitch. @Wrexham_AFC has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.”

Though visibly overwhelmed by the occasion, Reynolds hinted that work for the next chapter has already begun.

“It’s hard to avoid immediately starting work on next season – but important to take the moment in… Looking back and looking forward feels really good right now. Thank you for the greatest four years — and here’s to many more.”

Wrexham’s return to the Championship — a level they last graced in 2005 under its former branding — not only brings prestige but an estimated £8 million windfall in television revenue.

It also pits the club against some of England’s most historic sides in the 2025/26 campaign.

McElhenney, who created and stars in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, shared Reynolds’ pride. “I have the greatest job in sports,” he said. “All I have to do is sit back, watch the game, and be eternally grateful. I’ve been blessed to meet the greatest people in the world.”

Their vision has been matched by investment. Since taking over in 2021, the duo have backed manager Phil Parkinson in the transfer market, bringing in experienced players like James McClean, who praised the ownership.

“You see it with so many owners — they come in and promise you the world and don’t deliver. But they’ve delivered,” said McClean.

“This place was on its knees not too long ago. To be part of this history is absolutely phenomenal.”

Parkinson, who has overseen Wrexham’s climb from the National League to the Championship, acknowledged the daunting task ahead.

“The jump is huge. I remember when I took Bolton up, it was, ‘This is huge!’ in terms of physicality and power in the division,” he said. “But I’m confident we’ll be well prepared. Tough decisions will be made this summer to add to this fantastic squad.”

Reynolds, in his Instagram post, recalled the pair’s bold ambitions at the very beginning. “I remember the first press conference… Rob jumped in with, ‘The Premier League.’ People laughed. They had every right to. It seemed insane… but we weren’t kidding.”

He added: “I feel at home here. It’s a place that values community, decency and history. It isn’t just a place with a history of ups and downs — it’s also a feeling. And a feeling is sometimes as good or better than a memory.”

With the Championship awaiting and a Premier League dream now within touching distance, Wrexham’s Hollywood story is entering its most compelling chapter yet.
