Ahead of the clash, Gor Mahia coach Sinisa Mihic has urged K'Ogalo supporters to turn up in numbers for their must-win derby clash.
Speaking to Gor Mahia Media in the build-up to the derby, the Croatian stressed the importance of the Green Army in their title quest.
"Fans are really good and I think they know we need them, especially next Sunday. Kasarani, right? So I hope there will be, how much, 60,000 people? Okay, and then we hope like 1 million people on the street—Gor Mahia fans. That will be very nice. I will be very happy if I see all Gor Mahia fans in Nairobi; we celebrate together," said Mihic.
"Oh, they are very nice, I like them. I like them because of how they celebrate. They are not mad; they are always in a positive mood. And they should continue like that, you know," he added, praising K'Ogalo supporters.

The Gor Mahia tactician also addressed chaos witnessed during their previous matches, urging fans to maintain discipline.
"Only what’s a problem here—two times already—this pepper spray for tears. So I beg them, please, not to make any outside problem, because we don't need it," said Mihic, referencing the time fans were teargassed during their 4-0 win at Dandora Stadium on Sunday, 27 April.
"But also, police—why do they throw this at the fans? There is another option," he added questioning teargas being lobbed at fans.
Their latest outing against Shabana at Gusii Stadium on Sunday also had its fair share of violence as Gor Mahia won 1-0, with several people injured.
The Mashemeji Derby, a high-risk FKFPL clash, is scheduled for a return to Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.
