“A landmark breakfast! An incredible visit to our Patron, Hon Raila Odinga and Mama Ida Odinga's home in Karen, the club management had a good time,” Gor Mahia posted on social media.

“In a demonstration of his unwavering commitment and truly generous gesture, our Patron presented the club with a monumental gift of Ksh10 million to support administrative functions. We are deeply grateful to our Patron and his family.”

K’Ogalo Keen to Reclaim Lost Glory

The Gor Mahia delegation was led by chairman Ambrose Rachier and his deputy Sally Bollo with a promise to ensure K’Ogalo return to their rightful place at the top of Kenyan football.

Gor Mahia had a poor 2024-25 season by their high standards as they finished second in the league and lost the FKF Cup final which saw them miss out on continental football.

However, there are concerted efforts to get them back under Ghanaian coach Charles Akonnor who faces a big test against KCB, coached by veteran Robert Matano.

Akonnor won his first game as K’Ogalo coach last weekend, when his team beat Sofapaka 2-0, having started the season with a shock 1-0 defeat to Bidco United.
