FKF Premier League resumes with Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, and Shabana poised for exciting matches in the New Year.

As the festive season draws to a close, the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) is set to resume with a bang.

This weekend, all eyes will be on the thrilling match-ups as teams return to the field after a well-deserved two-week break.

The headline fixture of the weekend sees defending champions Gor Mahia facing a formidable challenge against Posta Rangers at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

This much-anticipated clash marks the final round of the first leg of the season and is poised to be a pivotal moment in the league's narrative.

Gor Mahia, who have maintained an unbeaten streak, will be looking to extend their lead, while Posta Rangers aim to close the five-point gap that separates them from the top spot.

Elsewhere, Bandari FC is gearing up for a critical home game against Nzoia Sugar at Mbaraki Stadium.

Following a narrow defeat to Gor Mahia, Bandari will be eager to bounce back and avoid slipping further down the league table.

Meanwhile, Nzoia Sugar, languishing at the bottom, is desperate for points to escape the relegation zone.

The Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay will witness Shabana taking on Muhoroni Youth in what promises to be a tightly contested match.

Both teams are coming off contrasting fortunes in their previous fixtures and will be looking to start the New Year on a positive note.

In another intriguing battle, Kenya Police will host Kakamega Homeboyz.

Homeboyz, consistently strong this season, will face a tough challenge from Police, who are determined to make a mark in their home ground.

Nairobi City Stars, riding on a wave of resurgence, will clash with FC Talanta at the Kasarani Annex, with Ken Kenyatta's men seeking redemption after a heavy defeat against Kariobangi Sharks.

Sunday's fixtures are no less exciting, with debutants Murang'a Seal traveling to face Kariobangi Sharks at the Police Sacco Stadium in South C.

Fresh off a draw against AFC Leopards, Murang'a Seal is keen to get back to winning ways after going six games without victory.

The weekend's action culminates with a high-stakes encounter between KCB and former champions Tusker at the same venue.

Tusker, fresh from a victory over Police, faces a tough test against KCB, signaling a potential shift in the league dynamics.

Struggling Sofapaka will take on Bidco United at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos. Under the new leadership of head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno, Sofapaka, currently in the relegation zone, is under immense pressure to turn their fortunes around.

Finally, AFC Leopards, looking to climb up the league table, will host Ulinzi Stars at Nyayo Stadium.

This match is crucial for Leopards to secure their third win of the season and move away from the lower end of the table.
