Kakamega Homeboyz will be out to continue the defence of their FKF Cup but Tusker, AFC Leopards and Shabana are among those vying to for the same trophy.

Kakamega Homeboyz will continue the defence of their FKF Cup this weekend when they host Tusker FC in what will be a repeat of last season's final.

Homeboyz edged Tusker 1-0 to lift their maiden trophy since their top flight promotion which also earned them a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.

To get there again, they will have to overcome a resurgent Tusker in the Round of 16 with Robert Matano's men looking for a route back to continental football if they cannot do it via winning the league.

While Homeboyz have had patchy form, Tusker are on a five-game winning run and will fancy their chances against the holders.

That will be one of four cup matches lined up at Kisumu's Jomo Kenyatta grounds with the other one being a top clash between Shabana and AFC Leopards on Sunday.

Leopards saw their 10-game unbeaten run come to an end just before the international break and will want to resume with a win.

Tomas Trucha's men are looking for a return to continental football and winning the FKF Cup is the only available route for them.

Leopards claimed this very trophy in 2017, the last time Ingwe tasted silverware, and fans are desperate for some success as the club marks 60 years since their formation.

Shabana, meanwhile, have endured a tough return to the top flight and victory against Leopards would be the spring they need to lift their spirits to help them retain their top flight status.

Other matches involving top flight sides will see KCB face Bidco United, Kenya Police host Mombasa Stars while Sofapaka are away to Bungoma Stars, all on Saturday.

On Sunday, Ulinzi Stars will tackle Kariobangi Sharks, Compel FC face Mara Sugar while SS Assad welcome Ukunda-based Denmark FC who eliminated Gor Mahia at the Round of 32.
