Tusker midfielder David ‘Daddy’ Odoyo has attributed their five-game winning run to the camaraderie within the squad while promising more in the final months of the season.

Tusker FC midfielder David ‘Daddy’ Odoyo has praised the squad's collective effort following their impressive run of five consecutive victories across all competitions.

That run included a 1-0 triumph over AFC Leopards, which ended Ingwe’s 10-match unbeaten run, before the international break which Odoyo has attributed to unity and teamwork.

Odoyo expressed gratitude for the hard-fought victory against Leopards, emphasising the team's commitment to executing their game plan and giving their all until the final whistle. He stressed the importance of maintaining their winning momentum in the upcoming matches.

"We are thankful for the victory we picked, more specifically because we played according to how we planned and everyone gave a good effort. We want to continue that way even in the next game," said Odoyo, as per the club’s website.

The midfielder highlighted the significance of winning five consecutive games as a testament to the squad's strong spirit and determination to compete for the league title. He credited the players' collective effort and desire to achieve their targets.

Odoyo also praised his partnership with fellow midfielder Chris Erambo, attributing their on-field chemistry to their friendship off the pitch. He emphasised their mutual encouragement and support, aiming for individual improvement and collective success.

"We usually encourage each other on the pitch and off the pitch. We push each other to improve in every game because we want to achieve good things at the end of the season," Odoyo explained, highlighting the positive impact of their camaraderie.

Looking ahead to the break before the Round of 16 of the FKF Cup against Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday 31 March, Odoyo urged his teammates to maintain their focus and intensity in training to avoid losing momentum.

"We have to keep working during the break to ensure we don’t lose momentum. We have a good team, and if we continue putting effort and working as a team like we have done till now, we will get good results," concluded Odoyo.

Tusker are second on the FKF Premier League table with 43 points, same as Bandari, and seven adrift of leaders Gor Mahia with 10 matches to go.
