The England international has endured a torrid individual spell at Manchester City since his 100 million pound move from Aston Villa in 2021.

Everton are reportedly exploring a move for Manchester City's out-of-favor midfielder Jack Grealish, as the 29-year-old finds himself on the fringes of Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Signed for a British record £100 million in 2021, Grealish has struggled to maintain a regular place in the team, and City are now open to offloading him.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Everton are preparing to open talks with City, though their preference is a loan deal rather than a permanent transfer.

This may prove difficult, as Manchester City would likely need to subsidize a significant portion of Grealish’s £300,000-per-week wages—an arrangement they are reluctant to accept.

Once a key part of City's treble-winning squad—contributing 16 goals and assists across 50 appearances—Grealish saw his form decline last season.

Limited to just 20 Premier League appearances, he managed only one goal and one assist, and was notably left out of the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Despite interest from Napoli, Everton believe they have a strong chance of landing the England international.

Grealish recently became a father and is said to favor staying in the north of England for family stability. A move to Everton would allow him to remain in Cheshire while being part of an ambitious project under new ownership.

David Moyes, recently appointed as Everton manager, is reportedly eager to build his team around Grealish, offering the kind of tactical freedom he has lacked at Manchester City.

Those close to the player believe his dip in form stems from being constrained in Guardiola’s rigid system, and a more expressive role could help revive his career.

The potential move comes as Everton enter a new chapter, with the club set to transition into the Hill Dickinson Stadium and the Friedken Group now at the helm following their recent takeover.

In addition to Grealish, Everton are in talks with Lyon over 20-year-old Belgian forward Malick Fofana, though the French club are demanding a fee in excess of £40 million for the highly-rated prospect.
