David Ouma embarks on a new international coaching journey months after leaving his role at Sofapaka.

Former Harambee Starlets head coach David Ouma has embarked on a new journey in his coaching career this time beyond Kenya's borders.

Ouma recently bid farewell to his role as Sporting Director at the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) club Sofapaka, where he had also served as the head coach during the 2022/2023 season.

In this dual role, Ouma not only took charge of the team on the field but also oversaw the club's youth development structures and the recruitment of talented players.

His commitment to nurturing young talents was evident throughout his tenure, as he provided ample playing opportunities to rising stars like Jacob Onyango, Ben Stanley Omondi, and Adis Panoam.

Now, with a fresh challenge on the horizon, Ouma is poised to focus exclusively on identifying untapped talent that can benefit his new team.

David Ouma's new venture takes him to the Tanzanian Premier League, where he assumes the role of head coach at Coastal Union.

The Wagasi wa Kaya, who have accumulated seven points from nine matches played in the current season, are eager to benefit from Ouma's extensive coaching experience.

Coastal Union confirmed his appointment, emphasizing Ouma's qualifications,.

"Welcome, coach David Ouma. The Kenyan coach is experienced, holding both a UEFA license and a CAF A license. He is a former assistant coach of the Kenyan National Team under Bobby Williams, and a coach who has dominated Kenyan football for more than 21 years with Posta Rangers, Sofapaka, and Mathare United," the club wrote as translated from Swahili.

Ouma's journey to Coastal Union began in 2022 when he assumed the role of head coach at Sofapaka, stepping in after Ken Odhiambo's departure due to a series of disappointing results.

However, Ouma's connection with the club dates back to 2021 when he rejoined Sofapaka just three days after stepping down as the head coach of Harambee Starlets.

During his previous stint at the club, he had served in various capacities, showcasing his dedication to its development.

The seasoned coach, known for his versatility in managing both club and national teams at various levels, returned to Sofapaka in 2021, following his departure from the Harambee Starlets.
