Record-breaking achievement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who surpasses Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane after an unstoppable streak for Al Nassr in the Saudi Arabia Pro League.

Al Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo continues to prove why he is one of the greatest of all time after he cemented his status by becoming the world’s top scorer in 2023.

Ronaldo earned the latest accolade after he inspired Al Nassr to an impressive 5-2 demolition of rivals Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo’s Run for Al Nassr

The Portuguese legend netted his 53rd goal of the calendar year following a brace in Al Nassr’s remarkable victory against Ittihad on Tuesday night.

Ronaldo, 38, converted two spot kicks in either half as Al Nassr went on a rampage against the Karim Benzema-led Ittihad.

The goals were his 52nd and 53rd of the year, taking him above Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane of Bayern Munich, who have 52 goals each, as top scorer in 2023.

At 38 years old, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star continues to defy expectations and prove he is still capable of competing at the highest level.

His transfer to Saudi Arabia at the start of the year shocked many following an acrimonious divorce with former club, Manchester United after falling out with Dutch manager, Erik Ten Hag.

Nevertheless, Ronaldo has thrived in the Middle East, leading Al Nassr’s charge both in the Pro League and the Asian Champions League.

Ronaldo’s latest outing against Ittihad took his tally this season to 19 goals and nine assists in just 17 matches for Al Nassr in the 2023/2024 campaign.

With Al Nassr set to visit Al Taawon on December 30, Ronaldo still has a chance to extend his tally to end the year on a high.
