Chelsea are reportedly exploring potential replacements for Enzo Maresca as the club seeks to stabilise its season after a poor run of form.

Chelsea are reportedly considering Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior as a potential successor to Enzo Maresca following his departure from the club.

The 45-year-old Italian leaves Stamford Bridge less than six months after guiding the team to a Club World Cup victory at the conclusion of his first season.

In an official statement, Chelsea explained the decision: "With key objectives still to play for across four competitions, including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track."

The move follows a dismal run of form that saw the Blues secure just one win in their last seven league fixtures, collecting a mere six points throughout December and falling 15 points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.

As reported by FootballTransfers, former Hull City boss Rosenior is now being positioned to take the helm after a successful 18-month period with Strasbourg, a club also under the BlueCo ownership umbrella.

Rosenior Poised for Premier League Opportunity

Sources close to the situation have revealed that Rosenior is being lined up to replace Enzo Maresca, potentially on an interim basis until the end of the season. This move would see the English manager transition from one BlueCo-owned club to another.

While appointing a manager temporarily from a sister club might seem unconventional, Chelsea's ownership has a history of making bold and controversial decisions.

This interim role could serve as an audition for the permanent position for the 41-year-old. Rosenior has earned praise for his work at Strasbourg, guiding the team back into European competition while adhering to BlueCo's youth-focused development model.

In France, Rosenior has navigated criticism surrounding the dual-ownership structure, which sparked controversy, notably when Strasbourg striker Emmanuel Emegha was signed by Chelsea for the 2026/27 season.

Now, following the departure of Enzo Maresca, Rosenior appears set to be rewarded with a significant opportunity in West London.
