The head coach has revealed the club's plans for the season after managing to steer clear of relegation last season.

Muhoroni Youth head coach Charles Odera has revealed the club’s ambitions this season after getting three points from their first three league games of the season.

Last season, the club, still known as Wazito, endured a horrific start to the campaign after failing to play in the opening six league matches awaiting for verdict from the Sports Disputes Tribunal on FKF’s decision to nullify the 2021/2022 league season in which the club had been relegated.

After SDT nullified the season, Wazito were allowed to continue playing in the top flight. However, the then interim coach Jeffers Odongo left the club to join Patrick Odhiambo as assistant coach at Kakamega Homeboyz in February, leaving the club in a difficult situation.

This left new owner Moses Adagala seeking solutions and opted to snap up Charles Odera from APS Bomet after the club opted to forfeit their season after being denied a chance to take part in the top flight.

Odera managed to steer the club to safety, and having had a full pre-season to work with his players, he has managed to oversee the club’s decent start to the season, where they have drawn all three matches against Nairobi City Stars, Nzoia Sugar, and AFC Leopards.

Odera noted that the club’s plan is to get as many points in the first leg as possible which will give them a good foundation when the second leg begins in their quest to finish as high up the league as possible.

“We want to finish in a good position because last year, we went through a torrid time trying to avoid relegation, so we do not want that this time round,” Odera said.

“We want to see if we can stay unbeaten in the first leg so that we can amass as many points as we can early enough so that by the time the second leg is up, it will all be about looking for more points to help us finish in a good position.”

Muhoroni will face Ulinzi Stars in their fourth home match of the season on Saturday.
