Rivaldo has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo was fooled by his Al Nassr contract and should return to Real Madrid.

When he joined the Saudi Arabian team in January, the striker agreed to a two-and-a-half-year contract that was reportedly worth £173 million annually.

The Brazilian legend has advised the Portuguese superstar to return to Real Madrid with the player said to be unhappy at his new club as he struggles to adjust to the new environment.

Rivaldo advises Ronaldo

Rivaldo has made some recent comments about Ronaldo’s contract at Al Nassr and has given him some advice to leave the club.

Rivaldo told Mundo Deportivo: “I understand that sometimes the players are fooled by the big contract they sign in Saudi Arabia, but then life there is more closed and football is not always as easy as expected.

"So, you may be going through a phase of some disappointment and even reflection. If the money you're getting makes up for the not-so-happy life you're living right now.

"It would be good for him and for football to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Real Madrid to finish his career.

"Of course, the fans have to understand that they cannot demand the same from him as when he was 25 or 26 years old, but he can still help the club in more conquests".

Ronaldo linked with a move back to Europe

Ronaldo has been linked to the likes of Real Madrid and Newcastle in recent months. The 38-year-old has scored 12 goals in 12 games for Al Nassr but he is believed to be keen on a transfer away from his new team.

According to recent rumours, his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez is dissatisfied and eager to return to Madrid. Los Blancos are also interested in re-signing CR7, but only as an ambassador.

Newcastle United are also said to be interested in bringing the Portuguese forward to Saint James Park but manager Eddie Howe has played down the move.
