“The entire executive of Athletics Kenya is united in our decision to nominate Barnaba Korir for the post of first vice president of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya,” Athletics Kenya president Lt Gen (Rtd) Jack Tuwei said.

“For over two decades, he has been crucial in helping Kenyan athletes grow and succeed in major competitions worldwide. “

“We are confident NOCK will greatly benefit from Mr Korir’s strong capacity building, excellent organisational skills and vast network of professionals from around the world. This nomination reflects our collective belief in his ability to serve.”

Commenting on his endorsement by the Athletics Kenya Executive Committee, Korir pledged to advance collaboration with all federations  if elected for the position.

“I’d like to thank my colleagues for this vote of confidence and nomination, which I accept with humility and gratitude.

“Athletics Kenya is a key member of NOCK, and our mutual working relations and cooperation go back many years. With a rich track record of empowering youth talent and steering flagship sporting events, Korir’s endorsement by Athletics Kenya sets the stage for what could be a highly influential leadership tenure within NOCK.
