FKFPL AFC Leopards seek to inflict more misery on Nzoia Sugar as KCB target Murang'a Seal scalp

Leopards could jump to seventh with a win against Nzoia Sugar, while KCB will be hoping to stop their nasty league form which has carried on since January when they face Murang'a Seal.

Twelve-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions AFC Leopards will be hosting Nzoia Sugar FC in a match set to take place at the Nyayo National Stadium from 4 PM on Sunday, hoping to maintain their good run of form that has seen them win seven of their last nine games.

Leopards, who started the season slowly due to multiple issues both on and off the pitch, look settled under Tomas Trucha, who is back at the club for a second stint at the helm of the club.

They sit eighth on 31 points and could be seventh by the end of the day should they beat the struggling Sugar Millers, leapfrogging Ingo rivals Kakamega Homeboyz in the process.

In 22 games, they have won seven, drawn 10 and lost five, with Trucha losing just three games while previous incumbent Tom Juma lost the other two in the six matches he coached.

Nzoia Sugar by contrast have been big let downs this season. Having surprisingly challenged for the title last season, they have failed to replicate their form from last season, and are rock-bottom of the table.

They suspended their coach Geoffrey Oduor in January after he was involved in a stand off with Football Kenya Federation and gave the job to Steve Biko, who has lost all his four games in charge of the club.

They have won four, drawn four and lost the other 14 of their 22 games and can ill afford to keep losing if they are to stay afloat of the league by the end of the season.

The match will be beamed live on Azam TV.

It seems like KCB FC is facing a challenging period with a recent 2-0 defeat and a mixed form of two draws following two consecutive losses.

Despite being near the bottom of the table with 29 points, the team maintains high ambitions. Hosting Murang’a Seal at the Police SACCO Stadium provides them with an opportunity to bounce back and improve their standing.

On the other hand, Murang’a Seal, currently positioned 17th with 18 points, is just above the relegation zone.

Their recent morale-boosting 1-0 victory indicates their determination to climb to safety. Facing KCB FC will be a crucial match for them, and they will likely be looking to capitalize on any openings to secure valuable points.

The match at the Police SACCO Stadium promises to be an interesting encounter, with both teams having their own motivations and challenges. Fans can anticipate an intense battle as each side aims to achieve their respective objectives in the league.
