Fred Ambani ready to lead the charge for glory and revive the club's former dominance in Kenyan football.

AFC Leopards' newly-appointed assistant coach, Fred Ambani, has broken his silence since his recent appointment alongside head coach Tom Juma by the 12-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions.

The former Kenya international wasted no time in setting ambitious goals for the club, declaring that they must end their decades-long title drought and reclaim their position as a football powerhouse in the nation.

Leopards, who last lifted the league trophy in 1998, have faced a myriad of challenges over the years, including leadership disputes, a revolving door of coaches, and instability in the playing squad.

These factors have contributed to the once-formidable team's struggles to replicate the glory days when they struck fear into the hearts of opposition teams and produced top talent for the national team, Harambee Stars.

"We must get out of our comfort zone and start winning league titles because the title drought is not a good picture for Leopards, and I would love to be part of the success we are hoping for," said an impassioned Ambani during his first media address as per Citizen Digital.

Ambani's arrival at the club has infused renewed hope among AFC Leopards' loyal supporters.

With his wealth of experience both as a player and a coach, he aims to instill a winning mentality and lead the team back to the summit of Kenyan football.

"It depends on the hard work one was putting into his team. I think it is when I led Wazito FC against them (AFC Leopards) that they saw what I can do, and also the style of play that AFC is currently employing is the same that I had instilled in my players," Ambani explained, hinting at his tactical prowess and understanding of his new team's approach to the game.

Ingwe fans fondly remember Ambani's illustrious playing career, which included successful stints both at club level and with the national team.

His deep-rooted connection with the club and its history makes him all the more determined to restore its lost glory.

Ambani's presence on the touchline is expected to bring a new wave of motivation to the players, inspiring them to push their limits and give their all on the pitch.

As the 2023-2024 season approaches, all eyes will be on AFC Leopards, eagerly waiting to witness the transformation under the guidance of their new coaching duo.
