The Harambee Stars midfielder produced a man-of the match display to give HB Koge all the three points on Sunday.

Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada shone as Aalborg returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over HB Koge in a Danish second division clash played on Sunday.

Odada scored his fourth goal for the club and also provided an assist to cap off a dominant individual attacking display on the afternoon.

Aalborg’s first real opportunity of the game fell to Richard Odada after some good play between Melker Widell and the Kenyan midfielder before attempting a shot from an acute angle after eight minutes played.

Midway through the first half, Emmanuel Toku sent the ball centrally to Odada, who had his attempt blocked around the penalty spot.

The return ball jumped out to Melker Widell, who shot on goal, but goalkeeper Berkant Bayrak jumped into the shot with a save. Odada tried to capitaise on the rebound but was denied yet again by the keeper.

In the 24th minute, Odada finally managed to find his way to the back of the net. Oliver Ross laid a cutback pass back to the Kenyan, who in the middle of the box confidently slotted the ball home to put them a goal up.

Odada then turned provider for the second goal when he set up Tim Prica to make it two just before half time.

In the second half, the snowfall intensified in Køge, but Aalborg continued to pile on the pressure and Odada had yet another attempt when he forced keeper Berkant Bayrak to parry the ball away from a hardened attempt.

HB Køge did however, reduce the deficit  to 2-1 in the 50th minute. Josip Posavec first saved a nice long shot by Marcus Gudmann, but the return ball bounced out to  Youssef Dhaflaoui on the left side of the box, from where he hit a flat cross to William Madsen, who slotted it home.

Aalborg managed to hang on to their lead and in the end, they emerged 2-1 winners, and they remain second in the league.
