The footballer produced a gun from a car and then shot at his teammates because they were fighting over crisps at the car park on Monday night.

An unnamed American youth football player has been charged with second-degree attempted murder after shooting at two of his teammates amidst an altercation at practice in Florida on Monday evening.

According to a report by TMZ, the footballer brandished a gun from a car and then shot at his teammates because they were fighting over a bag of chips in a car park.

In the video, the kid is seen running at a car before he opens the door as if to pick up something, then he stuns his teammates by cocking a gun and firing twice at them, leaving them to run helter-skelter in different directions.

Seconds later, you can see a woman grab the firearm from the kid's grasp before appearing to chastise him in the parking lot.

According to cops, the incident happened at around 8:20 PM at the Northwest Recreation Complex football field in Apopka, Florida after the boy and two other 13-year-old youth football players had gotten into an argument.

They say when the boy fired off the single round, it hit the others, catching one in the upper body while clipping another in the arm.

Both boys are expected to recover from their injuries. The woman placed a 911 emergency call asking for help, claiming one of the victims is her son.

In the audio, you can hear a woman claiming to be the mother of one of the boys asking for medical help repeatedly after she says her son was shot in the back.

The police say that when they got to the scene, they arrested the 11-year-old. They added that he has since been charged with one count of second-degree attempted murder.

"Nobody wants to arrest an 11-year-old, by any means," Apopka police chief Mike McKinley said of the matter during a press conference on Tuesday. "But based on our investigation we feel those charges are warranted."

Police also said the boy's parents could be facing criminal charges if officials determine they left a gun in a place where the child could reach it.
