The forward has so far scored 121 senior career goals in 348 games for United.

Marcus Rashford has scored many top goals for Manchester United but his favourite for the club is just a simple one.

The 25-year-old has settled on his first Manchester derby strike as his ultimate English Premier League goal for the Red Devils, saying it is special to him due to the occasion and kind of opposition and not technique.

Rashford became the youngest player to score a goal in a Manchester derby when he netted his club’s winner against their city rivals back in April 2016 at the age of 18 years and 141 days.

He started his run to get past City defenders to receive Juan Mata’s sublime pass and slotted past Joe Hart as United won 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium against Manuel Pellegrini’s men.

“Obviously, being from Manchester, it’s a special fixture for me anyway. The only thing that would make that goal better was if it was at home,” Rashford said while speaking to the Premier League’s Ultimate show.

Having netted a double on his debut for the club when former United coach Louis van Gaal handed him an opportunity in a crucial Europa League match in February 2016, Rashford would grab another brace two days later in his first Premier League match as his side beat Arsenal 3-2.

The forward was taken through some of his goals, including his brace against Liverpool, his 100th league goal, a bullet header against West Ham this season, as well as his brilliant individual strike against Brighton and Hove Albion during the 2020-21 campaign when he went past four players to score.

He however, settled on the derby goal as his best, insisting: “For me, City still wins it. It is the first derby I played in.”

Rashford has so far scored 121 senior career goals in 348 games for United and is currently enjoying his best season ever for the Red Devils, having netted 28 times in all competitions in 2022-23.
