Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has apologised to the Rainbow Nation for his outburst following his side's 2-2 draw against Liberia on Friday at the Orlando stadium in the AFCON Qualifiers.

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has apologised to the Rainbow Nation for his outburst following his side's 2-2 draw against Liberia on Friday at the Orlando stadium in the AFCON Qualifiers.

The 70-year-old former Cameroonian head coach was forced to attend the post-match press conference after Bafana Bafana's 2-2 draw against Liberia but refused to answer questions, an act he has apologised for.

"And yeah, in the 91st minute or 93rd, you get a goal where you lose the victory; that made a lot of emotions with me, and I left at 2-2 and went immediately to the dressing room," he noted.

"I didn't fulfil my media obligations, and I want to apologise for that, but I am human, and the emotions got the best of me."

Broos is now focused on Bafana Bafana's next assignment, an away game in Monrovia against Liberia; with the Bafana Bafana squad having returned to training on Saturday.

"So I think the most important thing now is that the players know that I still believe in them; I believe in the team because I built it."

"I know we have good players, and this team can qualify for AFCON."

Lyle Foster's brace seemed to stir Bafana Bafana to victory, only for Liberia to fight back with Tonia Tisdeli and a screamer from Mohammed Sangare at the death.

Bafana, who missed the last AFCON edition, sit bottom of the three-team group with one point after two games played.

Morocco is top of Group K with six points and has already sealed a spot at the showpiece in Ivory Coast.
