FKFPL Sofapaka welcome Jacob Adiss after Under-20 AFCON exploits

The 18-year-old defender has returned to Nairobi from Egypt.

South Sudan international Jacob Adiss has resumed training with Football Kenya Federation Premier Leagues (FKFPL) side Sofapaka, ten days after the Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations heartbreak.

The 18-year-old hoped to inspire his country to the AFCON U-20 trophy, but The Gambia had other ideas as they thrashed the Young Bright Stars 7-0 in the quarterfinals.

Sofapaka has confirmed that the defender has returned to training before Thursday's league clash against Kakamega Homeboyz.

The return of Addis comes just three days after Sofapaka played to a one-all draw against Nairobi City Stars in a league match.

Adiss did not manage any start at the AFCON U-20 and will see that as a personal disappointment following the Young Bright Star's inability to reach the semis of the recently concluded tournament.

The defender joined Sofapaka in January after completing his education at Dagoretti High School.

He impressed the Batoto ba Mungu scouts while playing for Ditchez in Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games.

Adiss anchored his name in the school's history books as he led them to retain the 2018 Nairobi Region Secondary School Under-19 boys' football title.

He honed his football skills at Roysambu Primary School in Nairobi, and his turning point came in 2019 while playing for his Zimmerman Youth in that year's Koth Biro Tournament.

Sofapaka are currently placed 13th on FKFPL log with 22 points from 19 matches, while their Thursday opponent Kakamega Homeboyz are 10th on the table with 25 points after playing the same number of games.
