Raymond 'Kingkong' Ochieng challenges 'Morrise Moristo Maketho Maloso Hercules' for the heavyweight title.

United States-based Kenyan Raymond ‘Kingkong’ Ochieng is stirring the pot in the boxing world with his assertive claim that he remains the top contender for Morris Okolla’s national heavyweight title.

Despite the lack of formal offers from boxing authorities, Kingkong is adamant about proving his prowess in the ring against Nairobi-based Okola.

Kingkong's argument hinges on the caliber of opponents he has faced since turning professional in December 2002.

"Kama siyo ukarabati na ukora ya wakenya hii story ingemalizwa Mara moja wanabadilisha ma goal post kila time Hakuna govemental ana piga raiha wapi Morisi Maketho( (If it was not for corrupt Kenyans organizers, this story would have ended immediately. They change the goal posts every time)," he remarked, expressing his frustration with the organizers and their shifting criteria.

This rivalry, laced with good humor, has seen both boxers exchange verbal jabs over who would be defeated first.

Okola, a former Kenya amateur team (Hit Squad) light-heavyweight, suggests that Kingkong should consider retirement.

"Bro, since I realize you are almost 50yrs I decided not to talk about fighting an old dog since I will gain nothing..in pro boxing we talk and look about rankings and active boxers you when was the last time you stepped in the ring fighting," he replied.

In 2020, Kingkong reached out to the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC), urging them to make the heavyweight title fight a reality.

Despite his frustrations over what he describes as a 'disrespectful amount' offered for the fight, Kingkong's passion for the sport and the desire to compete against Okolla is palpable.

He highlighted his 2014 victory over David Nino Rodriguez as a testament to his capabilities.

Top 10 world greatest boxers of all time

Expanding on the discussion of the top 10 greatest boxers of all time, we delve deeper into their careers, achievements, and the unique qualities that place them at the pinnacle of boxing history.

"I may have to take the low-ball they are offering because I am tired of people asking why I am not fighting Morris (Okolla)," Kingkong stated with a mix of exasperation and determination.

Kingkong's career is notable not just for his victories but also for the caliber of opponents he has faced, including Jarrell Miller, who failed a drug test.

On the other side, Okolla, a product of the famous Dallas Muthurwa boxing ranks and the younger brother of retired international Daniel Shisia, has made a name for himself in the boxing arena.

Crowned the national heavyweight champion in 2015 after defeating James Nyarikia, Okolla has an impressive record of 12 wins and 4 losses in 16 career bouts.
