Karim Mandonga and Kenneth Lukyamuzi are scheduled to fight in Kenya's capital.
'Loudmouthed' Tanzanian boxer Karim 'Mtu Kazi' Mandonga is finally expected to take on Ugandan boxer Kenneth 'Da Mexico' Lukyamuzi on Saturday 25 March, with the fight between the two having been agreed for the second time.
The much-anticipated bout was previously scheduled for Saturday 18 March at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Tsavo Ballroom, only for the fight to collapse.
A section of Tanzanian media reported that the fight was postponed due to wrangles between Solid Rock Promotions and MultiChoice.
The Kenyan boxing promotion company is said to have presented court papers to Multichoice through their lawyers indicating that Mandonga is signed under their label and that they are legally responsible for organizing his bouts.
MultiChoice has now placed advertisements on their social media handles announcing the fight date, indicating an agreement has been reached.
This will be Mandonga's second bout in Nairobi this year after fighting Kenyan pugilist Daniel Wanyonyi in January.
The 44-year-old boxer is known for his comical statements before and after bouts where he vows to floor his opponents.
"I call upon boxing fans to attend the fight and witness how I'm going to turn the Ugandan boxer into a punching bag.
I also urge the organizers of the bout to prepare a stretcher and get ready to send in doctors to provide first aid. I want to maintain my record in the game and I'm going to teach him a lesson so that he can regret why he agreed to fight me," said Mandonga in the fight promotion video.
The boxer has already introduced a slogan for his punch which he named 'Mlunga Mbuga'.
Kenyan boxer Nick Otieno will curtain raise the event and is scheduled to fight Hassan Ndongo from Tanzania.
Before that, Kenyan boxer Plaxedus Oduor will take to the ring against Tanzanian Zawadi Kutaka, while Michael Diares from South Africa will face George Bonabucha from Tanzania.
