It is a blow for Botswana’s hopes to defend their 4x400m crown won in the Bahamas last year.

Tebogo spearheaded Botswana's triumph in the previous edition, helping the team secure qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

At the Summer Games, the Olympic breakout star, who secured gold in the 200m, anchored the same team to a silver medal, narrowly losing out to a Rai Benjamin-anchored Team USA.
