Letsile Tebogo has unveiled his next destination after setting fireworks at the World Athletics Relays with the 4x400m men's relay team Olympic qualification.

Reigning World 100m silver medallist Letsile Tebogo stole the show at the World Athletics Relays, propelling the Botswanan 4x400m men’s relay team to victory and Olympic qualification.

Team Botswana clocked 2:59.11 to cross the finish line first ahead of Team South Africa and Belgium who finished second and third in respective times of 3:00.75 and 3:01.16.

Tebogo, who has been making headlines, will now go back to the drawing board and sharpen his talons ahead of the Prefontaine Classic, the Diamond League Meeting in Eugene, the USA scheduled for Saturday, May 25.

Speaking about the potential of competing in four events like triple World Champion Noah Lyles, Tebogo noted that at the Olympic Games, he will only compete in the 100m and 200m races.

“At the Olympics, I will just compete in two events because there’s going to be many rounds. We are now preparing for the Prefontaine Classic.

“However, if the team wants me to step in, I’m going to step in but there is uncertainty about it until the Olympic Games,” the World 200m bronze medallist said.

At the Prefontaine Classic, he will not have an easy run as he seeks to extend his winning streak after starting the season on a high. Tebogo broke the 300m world record in his season opener before setting the 400m Personal Best time at the ASA Grand Prix.

He will be up against Erryon Knighton, and Kenny Bednarek. Knighton took silver in the 200m at last year’s World Championships. Bednarek claimed Olympic silver in 2021 and followed it with world silver in 2022 and he will be hoping to build up on his win at the Kip Keino Classic where he silenced two-time champion Ferdinand Omanyala.
