Noah Lyles has delved deep into how his relationship with girlfriend Junelle Bromfield really is like.

American sprint sensation Noah Lyles has explained why his relationship with Jamaican girlfriend Junelle Bromfield is the “best” he has ever been in.

Bromfield, a 400-meter specialist, has represented Jamaica on various international stages and started dating Lyles in 2022 after they had been friends for six years.

The 25-year-old is an Olympic sprinter, taking home bronze for Jamaica in the 4x400 meter relay during the Covid-hit Tokyo Olympics. She also won gold in the same race at the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade.

Now, Lyles has opened up on his relationship with her on the World Athletics podcast, highlighting the highs and lows of their one-and-a-half years together.

“I am very good at understanding people because I go through so much therapy. We have a lot of conversations and of course, there are miscommunications and everything.

“We have that understanding of - we want to communicate first -. It is hard because I am a communicator and doer.

“If we get to a point where we are banging heads, I want to talk about it right there, right now, but she is like, I need to take one step back, think, regroup, and then come back.”

Lyles has revealed the one attribute that has made him better as a person from the relationship.

“It has taught me a lot of patience and I believe this is my best relationship ever but it has been so hard for me and such a challenge but at the same time, every time we get to another part, we just grow even more.”

Lyles has further revealed how Bromfield has managed to keep the relationship strictly professional while on the track, even citing that she does not even let him call her sweet names while in practice.

“On the track, you probably could not tell that we are dating. We are both to ourselves especially if we are running . She won’t even let me call her baby at practice!”
