Ferdinand Omanyala noted that the second-place finish was fair, but he is striving for better results and wants to find a way to stop Akani Simbine.

The Kenyan sprint star revealed that he enjoyed his time in Rabat, with the 2025 edition being the second time he competed in the Moroccan capital.

Ferdinand Omanyala made his debut in 2023, where he finished third, and his second-place finish at this year’s edition is an improvement.

“The race was very good and I am happy for achieving the second place, however, I still need to improve to achieve better results. My next race will be in Kenya and I will try to do better than here,” Ferdinand Omanyala said.

“This is my second time in Rabat, and each time the atmosphere is fantastic, and I also enjoyed the cheering of the crowd, and I will definitely come back again.”

Ferdinand Omanyala now shifts focus to the Kip Keino Classic scheduled for Saturday, May 31, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Omanyala will be hoping to record an improvement since he lost the 100m at the 2024 edition of the race, finishing a disappointing fifth in 10.03 seconds. Kenny Bednarek won the race dominantly.

Ferdinand Omanyala has always been the star attraction at the Kip Keino Classic, and during his debut in 2021, he finished second and set an African record of 9.77 seconds while winning the race.

The sprint king continued making waves in the subsequent editions of the event and the 2025 edition of the event will also be a platform for him to make waves and impress the fans.
