Dutch woman Femke Bol has reaped millions, thanks to her dominant exploits at the just concluded World Indoor Championships.

Dutch woman Femke Bol will head to the bank smiling thanks to her dominant exploits at the just concluded World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 24-year-old was on fire at the World Indoor Championships, winning the 400m final race and setting a new world record time of 49.17.

The reigning World 400mH champion then extended her winning streak to the 4x400m relay team, propelling the team to victory.

Thanks to her efforts on the global stage, Bol will walk away with $40,000, more than Ksh 5 million. For breaking the world record, the Dutch woman will walk away with $50,000, which is equal to more than Ksh 7 million.

For the 4x400m relay team, the whole team will receive $40,000. However, it is not certain on the amount of money each athlete will receive since six women participated in the discipline. However, Bol and Lisanne De Witte are the only two who ran both rounds.

Meanwhile, Bol started the season on fire, in Metz, where she opened her season with a formidable 49.69 seconds in the 400m. She also competed in the 200m race at the event, clocking 22.64 to cross the finish line first.

She continued to showcase her escalating form by improving her time to 49.63 seconds in Lievin. Bol then proceeded to the Dutch Indoor Championships where she claimed the top honours where she won the 400m in 49.24.

Bol has her eyes set at the Olympic Games in Paris, France, where she intends to stun the world, owing to the fact that she has had a great build up towards the event.
