American sprinter Cordell Tinch ran a world lead at the Xiamen Diamond League as favorite Grant Holloway suffered a major setback.

The men’s 110m hurdles at the Xiamen Diamond League delivered drama and dazzling performances, with Cordell Tinch 🇺🇸 stealing the show.

Tinch stormed to a sensational win, clocking a world-leading time of 13.06 seconds, firmly stamping his authority on the 2025 season.

Tinch held off strong challenges from Japan's Rachid Muratake, who finished second in 13.14s and China's Junxi Liu, who took third with a time of 13.24s.

It was a brilliant race from Tinch, whose sharp technique and blistering speed made him untouchable from the start.

However, the bigger shock came from Olympic champion Grant Holloway.

Holloway, a heavy pre-race favorite, landed awkwardly after the seventh hurdle and faded badly, ultimately finishing 10th in 13.72s, the last place.

It marks Holloway’s second loss in just a week, a rare dip for the dominant hurdler who had not suffered consecutive defeats in over a year.

While Holloway will now look to regroup ahead of an action-packed campaign, Cordell Tinch’s rising form ignites new excitement in the men’s hurdles.
