In the post, Kiptum said: “The preparation for my next marathon has started. From running in the woods in Europe to running in the streets of Kenya, preparation is key and fun!”

The reigning London Marathon champion made his full marathon debut last year in the streets of Valencia. He clocked 2:01:53 to win the race, clocking the fastest debut ever in history.

Kiptum was not yet done writing history as he took his form to the London Marathon. He clocked 2:01:25 to win the race. The time he posted was the second-fastest time in the history of marathon running.

The father of two then proceeded to the Chicago Marathon in October where he took the whole world to a standstill. Kiptum clocked 2:00:35 to completely shatter Eliud Kipchoge’s world record time of 2:01:09.
