Agnes Ngetich has threatened the late Agnes Tirop's women-only 10km world record at the Adizero Road to records following the astonishing time she clocked to win the race.
Agnes Ngetich and Nicholas Kimeli stole the show at the Adizero Road to Records on Saturday morning, April 27.
Ngetich stopped the clock at 30:03 with Margaret Chelimo, the World Cross Country bronze medallist finishing second in style.
Ngetich started out in a comfortable way and was in charge of the race from 3km, looking very poised as he competed. The world 10km record holder looked to be challenged by Chelimo but she would not give up the title easily as she just kept going.

Agnes Ngetich confirms next assignment following World X-Country Championships bitter exit
Agnes Ngetich will be seeking redemption at this weekend's Adizero Road To Records after her dismal show at the World Cross Country Championships due to period cramps.

The 23-year-old showcased her skills and kept checking her watch as though she wanted to lower her world record time. After covering 7km, Ngetich had opened up a wide gap between herself and competitors and was looking very strong.
As she passed the ninth kilometer, she was pushing hard as fans cheered on her to keep going. With the finish line in sight, Ngetich then sprinted to the finish line, clocking 30:03 to narrowly miss out on Tirop's world record of 30:01.
Meanwhile, Nicholas Kimeli also oozed class as he claimed the men’s title in a time of 27:04. World Half Marathon champion Sabastian Sawe finished second in a time of 27:06 with Rodrigue Kwizera completing the podium in 27:07.

Sabastian Sawe has expressed his elation after nursing his World Cross Country heartbreak at the Prague Half Marathon.
Kimeli took charge of the race earlier in the race and it was evident that he would be the one to claim the top honours. He was looking very comfortable leading Sawe and his competitors throughout the race and his hard work eventually paid off with a win.
