‘You’re Good with Spices’ - KCB Fire Back at Former Shujaa Star After Kabeberi Sevens Win
KCB RFC had the perfect response to former Kenya Sevens star Dennis Ombachi who had criticised their display at the Kabeberi Sevens during the initial stages.
The bankers won the Kababeri Sevens following a 20-10 victory over Daystar Falcons in the cup final on Sunday and it was sweet revenge for the team who fired back at Ombachi after their win.
Ombachi had stoked up the fire when he questioned KCB’s title credentials on Saturday.

“Hio ndio defense KCB wana taka kushinda nayo series (Is that the defence KCB want to win the National Sevens Series with?),” Omabchi questioned on Saturday.

However, Andrew Amonde’s team did their talking on the pitch with a 54-0 win over Mean Machine, 21-15 victory against Naukuru, when they came from behind, before thrashing Mombasa 31-0 to make it to the cup quarter-final, where they beat Mwamba 35-7.
How Did KCB Respond to Ombachi?
In the cup semi-final, KCB edged out Kabras Sugar 21-17 to set up the final with Daystar where they proved their doubters wrong and after their win, they responded to Ombachi with a ‘hard tackle.’
“You are good with spices but maneno ya Rugby tuwachie,” KCB fired back at Ombachi.
The bankers were referring to Ombachi’s new-found love for cooking that has made him an online sensation due to his finger licking delicacies and recipes that have earned him global recognition.
The Roaming Chef, as he is popularly known, was a revered rugby player who represented Kenya Sevens at many international competitions, including the 2013 Rugby Sevens World Cup and Rio 2016 Olympics.

The response came after Ombachi, a former Mwamba RFC player, had admitted that his 'hate watch had gone wrong.'
"Another unsuccessful hate-watch. Player of the tournament," he posted after KCBs win.
