Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard has explained why N’Golo Kante was not in the matchday squad against Wolves on Saturday.
The Blues suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of relegation-threatened Wolves to extend their winless run to four games.
Considering the Frenchman’s poor injury record, his omission from the squad that travelled to Molineux Stadium raised concerns.

"With the amount of games we’ve got coming up over the next two weeks, there are no worries with N’Golo," confirmed Lampard, who was appointed to take charge of the club until the season ends.
"We’re fine with him. We’re managing him through. He’s been out for a long time, we have a way of managing him."
On his return, the retired midfielder shared that he has enjoyed the last two days he has been in charge of the West London club.

"I’m delighted to be here. We, the staff, have had two days to work with the players," he added.
"Got to work really quickly, it’s a pleasure to be representing this club. It’s been a full blast, but we’re ready to go."
Expectations were also high to see Mason Mount on the team, but the attacking midfielder did not make it into the matchday squad.
In his first press conference, Lampard praised the England international who has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Arsenal, or Manchester United.
