Manchester United boss Rúben Amorim acknowledged the difficulty of his side's 2-2 draw with Tottenham but expressed disappointment that three points were within reach for the Red Devils.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day after the tense affair, Amorim suggested his team needs to improve its game intelligence.
"It was a complicated match, especially in the end. If you look at the game the three points were there to take. I think we can be so much better to understand more what's happening in the game."
The coach pointed to issues in the final third and praised his squad's fighting spirit amid injuries and setbacks.
"We lacked a little bit in the final third, the quality was not perfect. We fight in every adversity. We lost Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Benjamin Sesko and we lose two goals, but we still managed to score.
"That lack of quality in the simple things of the games, it wasn't there. We move on."
Looking ahead to the upcoming break, Amorim stated the time will be used for vital improvement and assessment:
"All the players are internationals. We are going to use that space of time to improve not just the team, but the club. We have to check [our injured players]."
