'We are ready for the task'- Shujaa captain exudes confidence ahead of Uruguay Challenger series

Shujaa captain Vincent Onyala has exuded confidence ahead of the second leg of the challenger series slated for March 8 to 10 in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Onyala promised fans that the team is well prepared and they should be ready to rejoice since they will not disappoint. He also noted that the event is a great build-up towards the Olympic Games in Paris, France where they will be eyeing a podium finish.

The winger also admitted that Shujaa have their work cut out going up against some strong teams but they will give their all.

“We hope our fans are out there watching and we are ready for the task, we are not going to disappoint you.

“Our supporters back home, everyone and those that choose to walk with us we highly appreciate you and we urge you to continue with the same spirit helping the game to go.

“It is definitely very important for us ahead of the Olympic Games because it is a build-up and we are hopeful to keep going and get a podium finish at the Olympics. It is a very competitive challenge,” a confident Onyala said.

Shujaa are in Pool A alongside Georgia, Portugal and Tonga and they will begin their campaign against Portugal at 9:01 pm Kenyan time.

Onyala explained that the team will implement the tactics used during the Dubai Sevens to ensure they also impress in Uruguay.

“It’s a great feeling coming in for the second round having a stellar performance in the first round. We hope to replicate the same performance for the second round here in Montevideo,” he said.
