As the incident happened

Walker's enraged rejection of Jover's offer of a handshake, the set-piece specialist after the game started the altercation.

According to reports from the Sun, Erling Haaland supported Walker when he chose to confront the Frenchman after taking offence at what he said.

Walker was furious as he went off the field, but cooler heads eventually prevailed after a brief altercation during which members of both teams interfered.

Haaland had to be restrained as well before being eventually brought down the tunnel by his teammates and staff.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, claimed that he "didn't see" what precipitated the altercation.

The Gunners ran out victorious against the Premier League Champions as they head into the international break.
