Vinicius Junior inherits Cristiano Ronaldo's old Real Madrid jersey
Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior has inherited the number 7 jersey previously worn by greats Raul Gonzales, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Eden Hazard as the club reveals its new set of numbers for next season.
Vinicius takes advantage of Hazard's departure
Vinicius is looking to stamp his reputation as a Real Madrid great after helping them to two LaLiga titles and a UEFA Champions League win in his short stay at the club.
Vinicius has grown from strength to strength at the club and with the departure of Karim Benzema, as well as Real Madrid’s impending reliance on youth, the Brazilian is set to become the biggest star at the Bernabeu and now has an iconic number to go with it.

Previously sporting the number 20 jersey, Vinicius went from scoring five and six goals in his first two full seasons at the club but has gone on to score 22 and 23 goals in all competitions in the last two seasons and is expected to continue on that trajectory in the future.
Rodrygo also gets new number after Asensio departure
Vinicius’ former number will be inherited by returning midfielder Fran Garcia who rejoined Los Blancos from Rayo Vallecano.
In addition to Vinicius getting a new number, fellow Brazilian winger Rodrygo has also been handed the number 11 jersey, previously worn by Marco Asensio, who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain.
