At the World Championships in Budapest, Sha'Carri Richardson became the world's fastest woman after winning the 100m title in a Championship Record (CR) of 10.65s.
Her victory inspired several track fans and non-fans worldwide, considering the obstacles she had to overcome in the past few years before getting to this successful stage of her career.
Budapest was Richardson's first major championship, and walking away with the 100m title in addition to the 200m bronze medal and anchoring Team USA to the 4x100m gold were some of the most inspiring moments at the World Championships.
In the press conference after winning the world title, @_kxnaomi for @citiusmag on Instagram spoke words of encouragement and showered her with prayers for being a motivation.
Richardson in response said she's grateful and it feels amazing that people now see her not just as an athlete but more as a person.
The American champion will be competing at the Eugene Diamond League next, where she will gun to win her first Diamond trophy to cap off her outstanding season.
