Victor Osimhen: Super Eagles striker says every game for him is 'war'

Osimhen was a shining light for Napoli last season, helping them win their first Scudetto in 30 years.

He also won the Serie A highest goal scorer, scoring 26 goals in 32 appearances for the Gli Azzurri side.

The Super Eagles striker has been known for terrorising defenders in Serie A during football games.

Osimhen has now said in an interview that he approaches every game with the mindset that he is fighting a war.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen recently granted a media personality an interview where he spoke about how he plays every game.

During an interview with PoojaMedia, Osimhen said, “During my spare time, after the launch before getting to the stadium, I always listen to Olamide’s rap, the kind of rap he’s done in recent years is really an inspiration to me.

“Olamide is my best musician in Nigeria and I used to listen, I have his playlist that I play to listen to his song and before I go for the team meeting I say my prayers and after I listen to ”Unruly”, Olamide.

“When I listen to these songs, I always put in my head that I am going to war every time so only the strong survive. 

“It is not that I am going there to die or someone is going to die but I feel like only the strong survive means that I want to win, I don't want to lose so these are the songs that I listen to psych me up to work hard in the game.”

The 24-year-old has said that he uses Olamide’s rap songs as an inspiration and goes into games with a war mindset.

Osimhen does not take any game for granted and goes into every game thinking only the strong can survive.
