Tusker have collected just one point from three league games so far this season, having lost 2-0 to KCB and Posta Rangers, before salvaging a draw against Mathare United.

They will be up against Shabana, who have won all their three opening games and find themselves top of the league at Kasarani Stadium from 4.00 PM tomorrow.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated FKF Premier League clash on Sunday, Okere expressed confidence that the Brewers are on the right track despite a slow start to the campaign.

“The mood is very positive in the camp. I would like to thank my boys for the points, the clean sheet, and our first point of the season,” he said.

“We are facing a team in good form, but we are building something as Tusker FC. The motivation in camp is very high, and we look forward to getting maximum points.”

Okere Sings Shabana’s Praises

Tusker have endured a frustrating beginning to the new season, but Okere remains optimistic that his team’s resilience and improved performance levels will soon translate into victories.

“Shabana is a good team with a good number of supporters pushing them,” he noted. “This is football, though — past results cannot affect the upcoming ones. We have prepared well, and the boys are confident because we are building something.”

The tactician, who took charge of the side in August 2024, emphasized that the Brewers’ focus is on precision during key moments of play — particularly in attack and defensive transitions.

“We are very positive about tomorrow’s match and very confident in ourselves,” Okere explained.

“If we attack well and defend as a team during transitions, I believe we will maximize the opportunities we are getting. We are creating chances — it’s just a case of being more clinical in front of goal.”

Tusker will also be aiming to end an unwanted run against Shabana, who have shown remarkable form since their return to the top flight, backed by a passionate fan base.

Okere believes the match will be a tactical battle that could serve as a turning point in Tusker’s season.

“We respect them. They are a good side that have started well, but we believe we can beat them. We have analysed them carefully, and tomorrow will be an interesting and historic game,” he added.

With renewed confidence and a clear game plan, Okere hopes to inspire the Brewers to their first win of the season — and send a statement to the rest of the league.
