Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Real Sociedad over the loan transfer of left-back Kieran Tierney.
The 26-year-old fullback joined the North London side from Celtic in the summer of 2019, as a highly-rated youngster billed for great success.
However, injuries have hampered his growth and influence on the team, causing him to fall down the pecking order, with Arteta preferring Oleksandr Zinchenko and, at times, Takehiro Tomiyasu to him at left-back.
He went further down this summer with the signing of Jurrien Timber, who, if pre-season is anything to go by, is also an option for Arteta at left-back over Tierney.
What happened
According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, La Reale have reached an agreement for the Scotland international.
It is reported to be a dry loan, with no buy action included; however, the Spanish club will be expected to cover his full wages.
The player is said to have agreed to the move, and his medical has reportedly been scheduled pending both clubs exchanging documents.
Real Sociedad's move for Tierney continues their effort to bolster their team in preparation for competing in the Champions League this season
Tierney will be another exit this Summer, following the agreement between Monaco and Arsenal for the transfer of Folarin Balogun, as the London club continues to shed excess weight.
